What You Need?

The first question that will come to your mind is what you need to clean your hot plate if not water. The answer is here;

You will need:

  • Some cotton balls
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Damped and warm cloth

How To Clean?

Firstly, let your hot plate cool down. Afterwards, damp the cotton balls in rubbing alcohol and press them to squeeze out the extra alcohol. Now, wipe the alcoholic cotton balls on the iron plates. Finish it by wiping the warm damp cloth. And you are done.

What Is There Is Something Caked On The Iron Plates?

The above mentioned method is for the regular cleaning of the hair straighteners. But if you have something caked on the iron plates then scratching it off would be the worst thing you could do. Why? Because it will also scratch the titanium or ceramic plating from the plates. Thus, you will damage your straightener and it will begin to break your hair.

What To Do?

Instead of scratching it with your nails, you can use a clean toothbrush and rub it on the material. The hair styling products aren’t that hard to deal with. But if you have a tough one, you can use some toothpaste.

The next step is to rub the toothbrush on it. It will completely wipe out the material and will make the iron plates new.
