Is A Sedu Flat Iron Any Good?
If you buy a Sedu flat iron you'll be buying one of the most popular on the market. They're mid-priced, come with solid ceramic plates and with adjustable temperature control. But, are they a match for some of their competitors' recent models? The answer is that some are while others aren't.
Let's get one thing straight (pardon the pun); A Sedu is one of the best flat irons available. They've received many hairstyling awards and many professionals use them. However, they aren't the only hair straightener that has received hair awards and is loved by professional stylers. And, many brands newer models now come with features that make straightening hair easier and make hair stay straighter for longer.
A Sedu is often compared to a CHI flat iron with many preferring one or other for the results they get. However, with the new range of CHI flat irons, Sedu may find its market share slipping. Let's take a look at each model available and see how it rates.
The Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron (1") has been on the market for some time and remains a big seller. It has solid ceramic plates that are coated with tourmaline crystal - tourmaline emits 6 times more negative ion that does ceramic (negative ions seal the cuticle and retain the hair's moisture causing less heat damage and make hair straighter for longer). It's also light, weighing only 0.9 lbs. and is a low wattage appliance, using only 72 watts, so it's cheaper to run. It now retails for around $75, so its price is pretty competitive for a good quality styling tool.
There is also a 1 1/2" plate version, which features exactly the same features but retails for a higher price of around $100.
Comparing both of these models with the original CHI flat iron we find that the Sedu models are cheaper, which is a real plus point. The CHIs are also heavier although they do heat up quicker, come with longer power chords and use only 35 watts. However, what really makes the Sedu the better iron is that it features variable heat control, whereas the CHI is fixed at 385F. If you're thinking of buying either of the two tools, you should definitely choose the Sedu.
The Sedu Revolution Nano Tourmaline Hair Styler is new. It comes with 1" plates, weighs only 0.65lbs, adjustable temperature control between 180F - 450F (120C - 230C), and fast heat up time. It also comes with something called a Freestyle Guiding System that prevents hair from slipping out at the end of the tool's plates. The plates also have a curved edge that helps prevent snagging and allows hair to be curled as well as straightened. Its price tag is around $130 and it's a very good hair styler.
But it looks rather old fashioned when compared to the new CHI Nano Ceramic Digital 1" flat iron. This tool uses something called Nano Silver Technology. This eliminates bacteria on the tool, creating a germ-free environment every time you use it - you're going to see this featured more and more on newer flat irons; the Corioliss also uses this technology. Just like its competitor the plates have curved edges. It is more expensive, retailing for around $140.
The CHI Nano Ceramic is the best flat iron of the two and I would recommend you spend the extra on buying it.
If you want to spend around $70 -$80, the Sedu flat iron is a great tool for the price, but if you really want the best, then opt for the CHI Nano flat iron.
Sedu Flat Iron And Other Hair Irons Possible Damage
Sedu flat iron became so popular the last few years that in some places, when you say hair flat iron, you say Sedu flat iron. How ever, as any good thing damage is possible if misused.
To understand the possible damage of Sedu flat iron, one must become familiar with it. Well, Sedu flat iron is a type of a hair flat iron with the purpose of straightening hair.
Sedu flat iron is considered the best flat iron today. It was rated the best hair flat iron and preferred by the leading hair stylists all over the world. It has patented ultra smooth ceramic plates which guarantee straightening without hair pulling or breaking.
To avoid damage using Sedu flat iron follow the following guide lines:
1. Do not use the Sedu flat iron on wet hair. Even if your hair is slightly damp you can cause severe damage to your hair and the treatment will not be effective. Your hair might get scorched and have permanent damage.
2. Make sure your hair is clean prior to using Sedu flat iron. Actually, we advise to use a shampoo and a conditioner suitable to the hair formation before using Sedu flat iron. Then, the best thing will be applying a leave-in conditioning spray for the hair which will protect the hair for an extended period of time.
3. Size matters and in most cases the smaller the better. If you are an average woman who hasn’t got a very long hair, you should use a Sedu flat iron with the size of up to 1.5". Wider flat irons are available but are heavier and less efficient for the average hair length.
4. Manage the heat of the iron wisely. Over heating your hair may cause severe damage. Use the paper tip : Before applying the Sedu flat iron on your hair, take a small paper misted with water and put it in between the flat iron plates. If the paper gets dry but not scorched, then the heat is properly set.
5. Work with small sections of hair. That way, all hair will be straightened evenly and there will be less heat transactions over your hair.
Theses guide lines were written based on the experiences of women who use Sedu flat iron. Following them will optimize your flat iron use.

Best hair straighteners – Part 2
It seems that these days, having straight, sleek, shiny hair is all the rage, and hair straightening products simply flood the market. From salon products to ceramic straighteners, they all claim to achieve that carelessly-straight yet glamorous look. So how do you choose which method to use?
Let's take a quick look at the choices:
- Chemical straighteners
- Flat irons (straightening irons)
- Straightening serums
- Straightening cremes
- Hair dryers
- Straightening shampoos
- Waxes
All of these methods will help you in your mission, but which one is the best? Which one leaves behind the least amount of damage?
In my experience, ceramic straightening irons do the best work. While any chemical or heating process will damage your hair and dry it out to some extent, using a flat iron seems to cause very few problems, and they are generally easily repaired by a good deep conditioning treatment and a trim. However, if you want to prevent the damage as much as possible, applying a heat-protective product to your hair before using the iron certainly helps.
Next in line is a combination of straightening products such as serums and a good hair dryer and round brush. Straightening serums and creams are meant to reduce frizz and breakage to hair, and almost always recommend blow drying the hair straight. It is, of course, another slightly damaging process, so again, it is best to use a protective treatment before hand.
The one method that I do not suggest is a chemical straightener, even if done at a salon. The amount of damage the harsh chemicals do to hair is completely unrepairable. In fact, the only way to get rid of the damage is to let it grow out and cut it off. Granted, when only done once, it is fairly safe for your hair, but when the treatment is performed on a regular basis, it completely fries the hair (and no, your stylist will not tell you that, because hair straightening is a good money-maker).
Of course, everybody has different hair, different textures, and different needs. When it comes down to it, the BEST hair straightener is simply the one that works best for you, giving you the results YOU desire.

What Makes The Sedu Flat Iron So Special?
If you have been browsing for a new flat iron, you have no doubt run across ads for the Sedu ionic ceramic flat iron. In fact, this iron is touted by famous Hollywood actresses and stylists to the stars as being the best flat iron that money can buy. But just what is so special about this iron and is it worth all of the hype?
The Sedu flat iron is a unique flat iron that has heating plates constructed of ceramic and tourmaline. The naturally moist substances infuse moisture and shine deep into the hair strand as you are straightening and the negative ionic energy produced by the plates promote hair strength and health. The ultra-smooth plates also eliminate any snagging and breakage that is associated with conventional metal-plated flat irons.
While you can purchase other flat irons with ceramic and negative ionic technologies, these irons are only plated with the material. The Sedu iron uses solid ceramic and tourmaline plates to create a tool that releases up to six times the amount of healthy energy.
All of this helps to produce a look that is unsurpassed by that created by other flat irons. In fact, the Sedu ceramic iron can transform even the nappiest locks into sleek and shiny tresses. The temperature control of the flat iron also makes it perfect for brittle, damaged hair and coarse, stubborn hair alike. The Sedu is even great for black hair.
The only drawback of the Sedu is that is comes with a pretty hefty price tag. You can expect to spend anywhere from $120 to $199 depending on the retailer and if you luck into a sale or not. And since the Sedu is only available through select salons and certain authorized websites, you need to be careful to make sure that the company you’re buying from is legitimate and has the backing of the Sedu company. If it doesn’t, you could get an inferior product that is not warranted.
Even though the Sedu has a higher price tag than most other ionic flat irons, it is the only one that is solid ceramic. Most are only plated with a thin coating of material, and even these irons cost around $100. While you can get great results with other ceramic irons, the results obtained with the Sedu are unsurpassable.
The bottom line is this: All of the hype surrounding the Sedu is not just a false promise. The Sedu does deliver and there are very good reasons why it is the top selling flat iron in America and other countries.
An Honest Review Of My Sedu Flat Iron
I bought my Sedu flat iron about 6 months ago and am really pleased with how my hair looks. After my old faithful Corioliss flat iron broke - after 3 years - I wanted to find a replacement that would give me straight, shiny hair every time but was anxious as I'd read lots of horror stories about ones that broke hair ends or even burned hair. I was going to buy a Corioliss again but at the last minute bought a Sedu instead and, like I said, I'm really glad I did.
I didn't buy the Corioliss because of two things; it is expensive and my friend, Debbie, already had a Sedu flat iron and I really liked the way her hair looked. We have very similar hair types; both are thick and a little dry, mine being a little bit longer. After I tried using her hair straightener myself I had no doubt that the Sedu was perfect for my hair.
I ordered the Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline flat iron online. There are two models available; 1" and 1 1/2", I chose the one with larger plates. It cost me $100.
I tried it out as soon as I took it out of the box. I washed my hair - I use Redken Smooth Down shampoo and conditioner. I also use Redken AntiSnap Leavin to stop split ends - it's an excellent product - and Frederic Fekkai Straight Away Straightening Balm.
The Sedu flat iron heats up in just 25 seconds and it has variable temperature control anywhere between 240F and 410F (120C - 200C). Because of my hair type I set it on the maximum, but you really should test it out first on a lower setting, gradually turning it up until you find the temperature that works best for you.
My hair just glided between the plates, no pulling or snagging. The plates are really smooth and I didn't have to clamp them down hard to get my hair straight. The company says that most hair can be straightened in just one pass but I found that I had to pass it through 2 times, which is what I had to do with my old Corioliss flat iron anyway.
Another thing I like about it is the swivel cord. I know just about ever new model now has one but my old one didn't and I used to find the cord twisting and getting knots, but with this tool the cord stays perfectly straight making it really easy to use the straightener.
It's also very light. It weighs only 1lb so I don't feel my arms or wrists getting tired - it usually takes me around 35 minutes to do my hair.
I really am pleased with how my hair looks using my new Sedu flat iron. I guess I should really thank Debbie for showing me hers and letting me test it out. It just makes it so much easier to know if something will work best for you if you can test it first.

Best Reasons To Use The Sedu Flat Iron
People have always had to deal with physical limitations of the ways in which they can style their overall appearance. One of the greatest examples of this is human hair. Many people are discontent with the way their hair naturally looks, which leads people to attempt all manners of processes to change the appearance of their hair, one way or another. Many of these methods are difficult, time consuming, and all around expensive. However, over time, technology has advanced in the areas of hair care products, making it possible for people to change the look of their hair faster and more easily than ever before. At the pinnacle of these technological advances is the Sedu flat iron. And perhaps the most important advantage of the Sedu flat iron is that it is far less expensive than regular visits to a hair stylist, while producing many of the same results.
There are a number of features that set the Sedu flat iron apart from other hair care products. First and foremost, it has a great deal of flexibility. In fact, it can be used on virtually any type of hair at all and still produce remarkable, beautiful results quickly and easily. How is this possible, one might ask? Well, unlike most other flat irons, which have only one or two different temperature settings, the Sedu iron has a dial which allows the user to carefully fine tune the temperature of the iron to best suit the need of their own specific hair type. This means that you will never need to do guess work as to what sort of results you iron will give you for any given hair type, and there will be no searching the market for an iron designed for you hair.
The real secret to the wonderful results that the Sedu flat iron can give is not the temperature controls, though. Rather, it is something a bit less obvious at a casual glance, but equally or, in fact, probably even more important than the ability to tune the temperature at will. This, of course, is the specially designed heated plates which are used to straighten the hair itself. These are composed of Ceramic and Tourmaline, which yields vastly better results than one can expect from an iron that uses ceramic plates alone.
This means that you can always expect great results from your Sedu flat iron, no matter what hair type you have, and all at a price that is definitely not out of most peoples’ price range. So, the next time you are considering spending a great deal of money to go to a hair salon for your new hairdo, you may want to think again. Why go to all the trouble and expense of a hair salon when a Sedu flat iron will give you beautiful, straight hair in no time flat, pardon the pun? There's a good chance that if you went to a hair salon, the stylist would use a Sedu iron on your hair anyway!

Best hair straighteners – Part 1
GHD's are the ultimate in luxurious design. they are the best selling hair straighteners in the UK. Ghd standing for 'Good hair day', are an innovative, well branded, and relatively new invention. Created in the year 2000, they revolutionized the process of hair straightening. They are one step beyond when compared to the average hair straightener. Using a new technology, the heat which the ghd's posses is one of the keys to the ultimate success of these hair straighteners.
Ghd's are now a household name. They have replaced the old fashioned style of hair tongs, and they are quite simply the 'only' brand to own. Used, and sold in most hairdresser salons here in the UK, they are considered to be the best available by the styling professionals in the hair industry.
GHD's have made it cool and funky to straighten your hair, in fact hair straightening is a must in the trendy youth culture of today, and these are their first choice from the multitude of straighteners available on the market. So you simply aren't 'in' if you don't own ghd's. They are a number 1 brand, used by the rich and famous. Many hair and beauty editors of major fashion and life style magazines have all bigged up the benefits of the Ghd straightener here in the UK and also abroad.
These straighteners have ceramic and tourmaline straightening plates, and they reach peak heat extremely quickly roughly 10 seconds I'd say. Which is great in the morning when you have limited time when getting ready for work. They also have a cut off function, in case you accidentally leave them on. So the safety aspect is catered for very well. When you use your ghd's your hair will remain straight until your next hair wash. I've never known a straightener leave my hair so silky and straight, poker straight I'd say.
They are truly amazing! The tourmaline straightening plates really protect the hair follicle, because they work by evenly distributing the heat through the hairs shaft. The actual straighteners are slim and easy to grip. They are well made and come complete with a very long lead, which is always very useful. They are a dark brown in color, but they also do a baby pink version of the straighteners.
The ghd's work by destroying the hydrogen bonds within the hair follicle, so the hair will remain totally flat and ironed until the hair becomes wet again. Humidity can even be catered for as ghd do a brilliant serum to counteract this. So no more frizzies or wavy hair when the scalp.
